Die Einnahme von Aloe-Presssäften, Aloe-Joghurt oder die Verwendung von Aloe-Gel und Aloe-Cremes und -Salben ist eine fragwürdige Therapie vor dem Hintergrund, dass die in Aloe Vera enthaltenen Anthrachinone und Aloin krebserzeugend sind.
Bei keinem der auf dem Markt vorhandenen Produkten werden bisher quantitative Werte über den Gehalt an Aloin und Anthrachinonen angegeben.
